About Gift for Life

TEAR Fund is a Christian relief and development agency that is linking Christians, churches, businesses and people of goodwill with the needs, challenges and aspirations of the poor in the developing world.

TEAR Fund works in close partnership with other non goverment organisations, Christian development agencies, national churches and missionary societies throughout the developing world. TEAR Fund has a holistic approach to development that provides economic and material help, as well as spiritual hope, by bringing together a partnership of social action with a clear and unambiguous witness of Christ's love and salvation.

TEAR Fund is a member of the New Zealand NGO Disaster Relief Forum and the Council for International Development, and is a recipient of New Zealand Government matching funds, though participation in the Voluntary Agency Support Scheme.

As well as overseas development assistance TEAR Fund provides a broad range of seminars and workshops to churches and other interested groups. TEAR Fund is also well known for its association with a number of exceptional musicians and performing artists who are available to challenge and encourage through their ministry.

Mission Statement

The purpose of TEAR Fund is to glorify God by extending his kingdom in ministry to the poor, oppressed and disadvantaged, and to encourage God's people in New Zealand to live out the values and principles of his kingdom, by sharing with those in need.
